Our youngest daughter, Mia, and I went for an afternoon walk along a stream with the breeze in our face and birdsong in our ears. She walked in front of me and I got to admire her curly braids in the sunshine as they glistened and caressed her neck. We checked the hummingbird nest and enjoyed the smell of wild jasmine as we walked along the path and talked of favorite desserts and future walking dates. It doesn’t matter where moments are shared with those we love, be they outside walking by a stream or inside preparing food, all that matters is spending time together.
