Look around you, Dear Readers. What do you see? Do you see charm in the everyday? Do you feel joy? Do you feel anxious? Do you feel at peace? If your space or place make you feel anxious or unhappy or even angry there are at least two things you can do right now and both are free.
1. Change your attitude. 2. Change the space. I know, I know... Both are tall orders right? Changing your attitude is far more difficult than it sounds so start by moving a couch or a picture. I recently became frustrated with my space. I have been so busy lately, I hadn't even noticed I was anxious in my own space. With two daughters, one in college and one in high school, I do not have extra income to spend on "new" things for my space so I decided to change it instead. I touched up paint, I repainted window sills and trims. I switched pictures on walls, I moved mirrors to be across windows to both add light and make the space seem larger. I filtered out stuff and donated it. I organized cabinets and closets. I donated more stuff. I decided to move tables about and to get rid of pieces of furniture all together. It felt fabulous! I found a more peaceful space beneath all the clutter. Finding the peace in my space helped me change my attitude. When I am at peace, I am better. A better human, a better wife, a better mother, a better friend, a better me. Try adjusting your space and see if it doesn't adjust your attitude and help you find the charm in the everyday.
