Our youngest daughter, Mia, and I went on a “what’s that? outing this afternoon. We knew we were heading toward a remote waterfall but not much else; in fact, we got lost a bit on the way. Mia and I love to explore new areas, especially when a waterfall (or two) is involved. Hiking to a waterfall is one of our favorite mother-daughter activities. Hiking gets us out into nature where we get to see frogs and birds and other wildlife such as deer and rabbits. Hiking is also a great way to work up an appetite and gather inspiration for new recipes. The colors and fragrances of nature open our imagination to new flavor combinations and provide inspiration. Get outside, Dear Readers, it will make you an inspired home cook.
