Is your dog like mine? Completely and utterly....ANNOYING yet in the most charming, happy and irresistible way? I thought so...
Below is a picture of our Lollipop. When I brought her home from the breeder, I suggested three names to our girls and they chose Lollipop. Would you like to know why she is named Lollipop Dear Reader? She is named Lollipop because she licks everything, I mean everything that comes near or around her face. She is capable of circus-worthy contortions to make this happen! It suits her to a T. Most of the time, we just call her Lolly. I know I have blogged about her in the past but she really is sweet and rather wonderful. Lolly keeps us all entertained, comforted and is sweet company. Lolly also checks the house, threatens every leaf, bird, fox, car or human that dares to come within a square block of our home. She loves popcorn and floor snacks. She loves her yard and to chase stuff whether is it a bird, a ball, sunbeams or her own tail or shadow. She makes an excellent pillow and is an aspiring yoga instructor. She is not a finicky eater and joyfully consumes leftovers. She has big, black eyes and a nose to match, both of which are kind and wet. Her snow white coat is both hypoallergenic and notoriously seems to always smell of "eau de Lollipop." If she was in California, she could hear a bag of treats being opened and would come running, full tilt, even if she seems like she is asleep or out of state. She snores, dreams and is verbal about what she wants. (At time she can be a bit preachy.) I swear Lollipop can smile. In light of how much our pet family members willingly offer us through thick and thin, today I offer a simple recipe for dog and cat treats. I grabbed the dog biscuit recipe from the Cesar's Way website, here is the link: https://www.cesarsway.com/dog-care/nutrition/recipes-for-quick-and-healthy-dog-treats I edited this recipe a bit. I used to make homemade dog biscuits years ago. Be wary of additions that are not "dog-friendly" like dried fruits, or foods that may make your doggie need the outdoors like cheese. "Floor snacks"... I'm laughing so hard I'm almost crying. We have not had a dog in YEARS, however rogue floor snacks, stolen kitchen counter snacks, and wastebasket treats were always her favorite! Her name was Buffy, which raised an eyebrow with others; she was a keeshond mix, mostly black with a little white tuxedo. My husband named her that after a week of calling her Puppy (while we agonized over choosing the perfect name for our "firstborm") because we snuck her into our apartment and he really liked the show Bosom Buddies.

Our daughter likes to say that lollipop is 100% successful at keeping the mailman, the garbage man, and anyone walking by on the street out of the house.

Only in her over-active imagination is Lolly successful at keeping anything away.
